Looking for a Minecraft server host for you and your friends? Maybe you're thinking bigger and want to make very own game mode like BedWars, SkyBlock, etc? Well, we are proud to announce that OuterWorlds is now opening it's applications for Dimension Operators! With our newly upgraded dedicated hosting, we are now able to provide this hosting service to qualifying members, for FREE! Yes, that is right it is completely free.
Our goal at OuterWorlds is to make the most unique, diverse experience possible. That being said, in order for anyone to take advantage of that goal, we need players. Players join a server that they see has players. If there is 0/100 online, no one is going to join that server. The advantage that we get for hosting the Dimensions for free is that since your players have to connect through OuterWorlds and our IP, they will be displayed on the server lists, server finder websites, etc as having those players on our network. It will also open a door for your players of your Dimension to try out our game modes too play our as well.
Think of it almost like Fortnite, there are original game modes made by Fortnite, than the rest are creator made maps hosted by Fortnite and you need to join Fortnite in order to access those maps. This works the same way in where your players have to join OuterWorlds, they pick between our game modes and your game modes, most people that log into Fortnite are playing their game modes, but will occasionally go to play the other game modes too. Think of it being the opposite for the OuterWorlds. Most people will be joining to play the Dimensions that you make, but sometimes they will try to come over and experience what we have made as well. Also, this can be seen as a benefit for Dimension owners too, as you will also be able to attract new players from our current player base.
What's the catch if it's free?
Well, really there is no real catch. It's a way to start your very own server while also helping us promote our network. Your players will have to connect directly through our network outerworlds.us and select your Dimension from the available NPC's or connect with your assigned subdomain.
Where are the Dimensions hosted?
Florida, United States
What kind of specs will the Dimensions have?
Each Dimension will be equipped with 4GB RAM, and 16GB NVMe SSD Storage, and shared CPU on a i9-10900 @ 5.2GHz. You will also get 1 Backup Slot, 1 Database Slot and 1 Extra UDP port allocation.
How many Dimensions are available?
We are launching the Dimensions program with 32 available servers, it will be on a first come first serve basis, contingent upon Dimension applications being accepted?
Is 4GB of RAM really enough to run a Minecraft server?
Believe it or not, yes! We have proven this theory already with multiple servers we host, as you can see from the example below this user had 43 people on his server, with 20 TPS and 14 plugins using LESS than 4GB of RAM. It is possible, with the right optimizations to your server and not using plugins or addons that you do not know what they do can help effectively consolidate resources. Our startup scripts also ensure that garbage collection and RAM allocation is as efficient as possible allowing for performance as shown below.
How long does the Dimension last for?
The Dimensions are permanent, as long as they are active, you maintain a decent player base of 10 or more, and the server is not inactive for at least 1 week. We understand there are times where there will be off-seasons, maintenance, etc for certain game modes. If you know you are going to be going through a period of inactivity, please reach out to @1pick on Discord to leave a notice.
Why choose OuterWorlds and not another free provider?
It’s a no brainer. We offer the MOST for FREE. Even our paid packages are much cheaper than anything out in the market without sacrificing or compromising. This is due to the fact that I do not do this for the money this is a hobby for me more than anything. I have the knowledge, resources, and equipment to do what I do and give what I give and still manage to make it free.
If it’s free, why do I have to apply for hosting?
Due to the current infrastructure and platform I manually have to add each individual server and user to the network. I eventually plan on making the whole process automatic but since it is all a manual process as of now I handpick who I feel is fit to run a server and who will actually use it. We have had many users that have just been given servers, ask for help constantly and never end up using the server or giving up after a couple days which is a waste of my own time, energy and resources.
Do the Dimensions ever go offline?
Your Dimension goes offline after 3 consecutive hours of no players being online. If a player joins during those 3 hours the timer is reset and will begin again once that last player leaves. This is to ensure that there are always enough resources for all users. Your players will be prompted with step by step instructions on how to start the server on their own without you turning it on if it does go offline and they want to play. Again, you do NOT need to turn the server on yourself, players can do this on their own.
Can I use my own plugins on Dimensions?
Yes! You are free to use any plugins you desire to use as long as they are not BungeeCord/Velocity plugins as your servers will be standalone Spigot/Paper servers running off our own Velocity proxy. We also have a tool built right into the Panel for the Dimensions that let you search for and one-click install plugins making it very easy to search for a new resource for your Dimension!
What do I need to qualify for a Dimension?
You can apply right here on our forums for a Dimension! You will need to login to outerworlds.us and type /register on the Hub to make an account. Once the account is made, visit to fill out the application.
How can I upgrade my Dimension?
You can purchase upgrades through our Donator Packages on our panel. You have to currently own a server to view the payment portal, but we do offer the following plans:
Chances are, this is something on your end. Try to disable all plugins by doing the following:
Again, chances are this is something on your end. Try joining on the exact client version your server is running on (type "ver" in console to see the exact version you are running). If that does not work, try to install the LATEST versions of ViaVersion, ViaBackwards, and ViaRewind and try to join again. If you are unable to join, see if you are able to connect to "outerworlds.us" which is the main server. If that still does not work please make a ticket on our Discord. If you are able to join, follow the steps listed above this Q/A as it is most likely a conflicting plugin.
How do I allow cracked players to join?
Cracked players are supported NATIVELY on OuterWorlds via our Velocity proxy that your servers are connected to you do not need to do any modifications to your server. There is a limbo server that cracked players are sent to, this is why you probably didn't notice or know it was already cracked as you are not prompted with a register/login screen if you are a premium user. After the cracked player registers, as long as they login with the same username and IP address they will not be sent to the limbo server to be authenticated they will automatically be forwarded to the server. Cracked player can NOT join with a premium username or they will be prompted with a "Not authenticated with Mojang" or "The authentication servers are temporarily down" message. Advise the user to switch their cracked username to one not used by a premium Minecraft user by visiting https://namemc.com to find a username that is not being used by a premium user. Cracked support on all versions is not always guaranteed, as our limbo server gets updates as the originating author releases them (at the time of writing 1.21.3 is the latest Minecraft version and 1.21.1 is the latest cracked version supported for join).
How do I allow Bedrock players to join?
Bedrock players are supported NATIVELY on OuterWorlds via our Velocity proxy that your servers are connected to you do not need to do any modifications to your server. Your Bedrock IP and port is listed above your server console on the panel. We do not provide support for console players that cannot connect directly with an IP and port. There are methods out there for this, but this is up to you guys to figure out we provide the ability for Bedrock to join, you as the owner will be responsible for finding out how to get unsupported Bedrock clients to access the server via that IP and port.
Can I use Simple Voice Chat and Dynmap?
Simple Voice Chat and Dynmap are supported NATIVELY on OuterWorlds via our Velocity proxy that your servers are connected to you do not need to do any modifications to your server. To figure out your free UDP port, grab your server IP and replace the "xx" in "400xx" with your number and that is your port (ex. d-06.outerworlds.us UDP port 40006)
Can you help me with setting up a plugin?
Feel free to make a ticket if you believe the plugin is not working due to something on our end, but almost every single Spigot/Bukkit/Paper plugin should work on your Dimension. Velocity/Bungeecord plugins will not be supported. You can always recommend a plugin to be added to the proxy in our Discord if wanted. We do not provide support for plugins, you can access support via the authors Discord and/or their Wiki on the plugin page (as all decent plugins should have one or both options). Google and ChatGPT are also great resources for finding solutions. If they have a Discord, try to use the "Search" feature on Discord to search their Discord server for people who have messaged about similar issues.
My ping is high can you fix this?
Unfortunately if you are experiencing ping issues there is not much that we can do. The servers are hosted in my home lab in Florida, USA off residential internet. Most US based servers are located in Virginia, or New York with business internet, that’s why you can experience differences in ping. Test your ping on the main server first to see if it’s stable before requesting a Dimension.
I accidentally deleted something I didn't mean to delete, can you recover it?
Your servers Files container will include a Trash folder that when deleting files they will be sent there just like how a PC sends files to the recycle bin. These files will automatically be deleted within 24 hours but you accidentally delete something you can go back into that Trash folder and restore the file(s).

- 10 Players or more ready and willing to play your server
- A Discord Server for your server
- Experience with server management (as yes, you will have your own panel, plugin, file, and SFTP access)
- Experience with Pterodactyl (panel program used to manage server)
You can apply right here on our forums for a Dimension! You will need to login to outerworlds.us and type /register on the Hub to make an account. Once the account is made, visit to fill out the application.

You can purchase upgrades through our Donator Packages on our panel. You have to currently own a server to view the payment portal, but we do offer the following plans:

- $6/year | Custom Domain (ex. boredsmp.club)
- $4/year | Custom MOTD and Icon (Removes OuterWorlds Branding/Advertisement in MOTD)
- $4/year | +1 GB RAM (max 4GB for total of 8GB RAM)
- $4/year | +16GB NVMe SSD Storage (max 32GB NVMe SSD Storage)
Chances are, this is something on your end. Try to disable all plugins by doing the following:
- Stop Server
- Rename "plugins" folder to something else (ex. pluginsOriginal)
- Start Server
- Attempt to join, if it starts and works and you are able to join it is plugin related
- Stop Server
- Delete "plugins" folder
- Rename modified "plugins" folder (ex. pluginsOriginal) back to "plugins"
- Open "plugins" folder
- Rename each plugin ".jar" file to something else (ex. .jar!) one by one and start the server until it boots and is joinable
- Once problematic plugin is found, delete the plugin or update the plugin as chances are you have the wrong version
- Rename modified ".jar" files (ex. .jar!) back to ".jar"
- Start Server
Again, chances are this is something on your end. Try joining on the exact client version your server is running on (type "ver" in console to see the exact version you are running).
